For Teaching and Movement Direction

Buzzing with excitement after completing the intro to the Laban class with Pascal! Through body led movements focusing on sensation and experience, I was able to begin connecting with my body and voice in a whole new way. Pascal encourages you to engage in daily practice either at home or out in the real world- do it! Practice, accountability, and discussions with classmates definitely added value and contributed to immense growth on my end. Another tool in the actor’s kit. Looking forward to the Advanced Laban class!

“I went into the class not knowing what to expect and walked out with a new set of skills to apply to my acting and writing.”
— Nolan, USA (On Listening Workshop)
But thank you again for such an awesome and helpful class. It was an awesome refresher for me as an actor. I’m so happy that I jumped at this class, listening is such an overlooked and ignored skill for an actor and I feel is that it is put to the wayside all too often in other acting classes. It definitely reminded me of my first Laban classes in college, my professor then also touched on listening in terms of physicality and such. I’m absolutely (already) recommending this to my other actor friends if you ever offer it up again! I really hope I can take one of your online Laban classes as well at some point!.
— Tess, LA
Pascal manages to make an intensely physical course work over the medium of Zoom, which is no small feat. The exploration of all the assorted concepts feels carefully guided, yet also completely individual and Pascal makes it his mission to make every part of the process intelligible, practical and comfortable. If you want a course that will help you take Laban theory and find a meaningful way to actually apply it in context, this is the one for you!
— Daniel, Germany
I am eternally grateful for the exceptional teaching skills of Pascal. Having participated in his Mocap, psycho-physical and character listening classes, I can confidently say that throughout my journey in theatre studies and various workshops, I have never encountered an instructor who has helped me take my craft to a level of depth and complexity that goes beyond the ordinary. Pascal embodies the art of cultivating excellence, paying meticulous attention to detail and infusing finesse into every performance.

He has this extraordinary talent for delving into the intricacies of human behaviour, and he always generously shares his fascinating brain with his students. His teachings go beyond the technical aspects of acting which he guides us to apply to our performances.

His classes have not only honed my acting skills but have also ignited a passion within me to continuously strive for artistic excellence.

I wholeheartedly recommend Pascal to any actor seeking to elevate their craft to new heights and harness the profound nuances of human behaviour. Also, read his book! You’ll quickly realize he’s a genius!!

Pascal is truly a master teacher. He creates a space of play and discovery while effortlessly guiding the actor through Laban principles. His process keeps one in exploration mode before getting too analytical. I have studied Laban principles briefly in the past but felt like I was rediscovering Laban in a whole new way. We worked from the inside out, which allowed me to truly get curious and dive in deep without being too judgemental about the process. I highly recommend his classes to actors searching to embody characters on a much deeper, physiological level!

Psycho-Physical 1: Taking the Psycho-Physical 1 course was a huge eye opener for me! Using the concepts introduced, it was jaw dropping for me to map my character’s psyche, to sense the different energies present and discover a much deeper history behind the text. I suddenly saw my character and their reality in a totally new way. These techniques for me will be a fantastic addition in developing character and for practical real life applications on set and in auditions.
— Karen, California
I immediately started using the exercises I learned from Psycho-Physical 1 to my work. If you’re a fan of Stanislavski’s Method of Physical Action or Michael Chekhov’s Psychological Gestures or if you’re an actor who simply wants to physically move with purpose, heart and freedom - consider Pascal’s effective approach to psycho-physical. It’s an ‘out-the-box’ experience that will help you bridge the gap between you and your character.

Starting classes with Pascal this year has been such a gift. I’m always looking to expand and train as an actor, even after being in the biz for 20 years. I’ve dipped my toe into Laban work previously but had a hard time accessing it all. In just two classes, Pascal’s approach to teaching Laban’s work has opened up so many doors of understanding in my body & mind and I’m excited to keep working with him. I’m already putting the practice to good use with characters I’m developing for auditions. Small class size, specific focus for each student, being held accountable to do the work - I eagerly recommend this class to anyone seeking to go further in their craft.

Pascal brings everything to his class, not afraid to put himself out there if it means helping his students learn. He is committed to making sure everyone understands and will take the time to speak with every student about what *they* need to get the most out of his class.
— Henry, UK
Pascal’s knowledge and understanding of Laban is extremely valuable to performers wanting to further explore physicalization and complete characterization in their work. His way of teaching the concepts, from the warm up all the way to applying them with text, helps ensure each student has a solid foundation before moving forward with the next step. Like the rest of the class, I walked away from this course feeling more confident in my character range and taking on roles further away from myself.

An ideal introduction for those who have never worked with Laban as well as those who know the basics but are curious about how to apply them. Combining theory and practice, Pascal provides a thorough overview of the Laban framework, which is then put into practice through physical explorations, allowing participants to familiarize themselves with the different Laban efforts in their own body. Throughout the course, we learned how to describe different movement qualities using Laban terms, discover our own physical heritage, “copy” another person’s physicality, and use Laban techniques to create distinct and nuanced physicalities for a character. I highly recommend this course for any actor looking to deepen their physical awareness and especially to those working in motion or performance capture.

I took Laban Technique a few weeks ago...and wow! I have taken awhile to write a review as I feel any description I would give wouldn’t do it justice. Pascal does a wonderful job creating a safe and fun environment in which to explore movement without judgement.
If you are looking for ways to get in your body more/ out of your head/ or just explore a fun new way of doing things...this is it!
10/10 highly recommended!
— Tara, Denver
I also took the Psycho-Physical technique this past month. Again- not sure I can do this class justice... But Pascal is a fabulous teacher that creates the best learning environments. This technique is very in depth and an absolute must if you want to learn how to get into another’s skin so to speak. It is the essence of becoming a character, rather than just pretending.
If you are serious about deep diving into your character...this is for you!!
Another 10/10 highly recommended class!!!

The Psycho-Physical Acting Technique that Pascal teaches is revelatory. I came away feeling like a more connected artist. It allows me to better understand the emotional landscape of my character so I can more easily embody them. I highly recommend Pascal’s classes. He’s an encouraging and empathetic teacher who is capable of nudging students to deeper performances. I look forward to his next class.

I also took Pascal’s Intro to Laban Movement class. I am not a dancer or athlete, so I was a little intimidated going into it. But I came away feeling like I better understood how my psychology influences how I move. Not only that, but I am more confident that I can move the way my character moves. I highly recommend this class.

I love approaching characters from a place of discovery and curiosity & Laban for Voice Actors is a great set of tools to discover and approach the work. As someone who suffers from overthinking, I really appreciate how it takes me out of my head and into my body. I’m still discovering how many ways this work opens up new possibilities in character development. Additionally, I appreciated how it also relived tension in my voice and put it back in my body, which I can already see will be so beneficial for long sessions and longevity in a career of vocal performance, where otherwise it is easy to injure ourselves manipulating our voice.
— Jenn, USA
I walked away with immediately applicable tools, and the material was presented in a way that was easy to grasp with experience first, and theory second.
Laban is complex and experiencing even a basic level made it evident how vast its potential is, once the skills are developed enough to really “play” with the technique.
— Trine, Denmark
That this course will give you a great set of tools that get you in or back in the voice of the character, that can be very useful to anyone who spends time in the VO booth and from time to time feels constricted or pressured by it.

It’s a great course to start learning about Laban. Pascal was great at explaining what we were doing & how to use it in vocal breakdown. A better course to do in person, but can be done over zoom as well!
